February 11th was a busy day at the grange. Really busy and fun.
First up in the morning there was the Local Emergency Preparedness Planning (LEPP) workshop put on by the Sustainability Committee. The turn out was amazing with reportedly over 100 people participating. Speakers from the fire department, School District, Lane County Sheriff’s Dept and Oregon Red Cross provided important information & materials on how the valley can organize our neighborhoods to work together in a disaster. Each answered questions from the audience and they were so great everyone stayed focused until lunch was a bit late. People signed up for future meetings and trainings and placed themselves on the map which will help neighbors find each other and do some even more local planning. More to come.
In the evening the grange was transformed into a romantic bistro with a lucious Italian feast and live music. In partnership with the Mohawk Lion’s Club the grange hosted a fabulous Valentine’s Dinner Dance that was great fun. We’ll have more on the event and photos soon.
In the meantime here’s a slideshow of the LEPP
